Side Mounted Reg bracket

So i decided to make up a side mounting reg bracket, seen as I backed into my own car and damaged the plinth

Heres the drawing I found on the english OC site!

So I went and made me a cardboard cutout to see how she looked


This mount turn out to be very low. So i did a bit of a redesign!

Here you can see that I used two M8 38mm washers to clamp it to the tow hook....


The height and distance from the bumper was just right. But I used only 0.5mm steel so she was bouncing alot.
So i TRIED to stiffen it.......


This didn't work, so I have redrawn the bracket and I'm going to get it made as specified in the original UK OC drawing at 1/8 inch or 3mm.

Here's my final design if anyone wants a go for themselves.
It may look messy attached to the hook but all this is covered by the plate.
Can't wait now to get it made.


I know I could have paid €40 euro off autolink for a cusco one, but then I wouldn't have had the enjoyment of making one to fit, and at least now I know exactly what I'll get......
