13 & 14th September Kerry Run 2014

**********GO TO PAGE 6 FOR RUN TIMES AND ROUTES********

After the success of yesterdays run we might as well strike while the iron is hot on another run.

After having a chat with a few guys yesterday and on previous runs we have talked about a 2 day run with a stay over.

I'm looking for accommodation at the moment. Kerry is still very busy in September so where we stay will depend on the sort of numbers we have. I'll be checking Tralee first but Killarney is also an option is people prefer.

EDIT: I broke the link to the first map by mistake opps!
Here is a revised one that has the run starting in Tralee but finishing in Killarney. Accommodation is going to be easier to get there I hope.

Their is a fair few B&B's close to this hotel which might suit better.

Hey guys,

After organising many a Kerry run in my time without being bios it is definitely some of the greatest routes in Ireland for a five. One year I took the guys up the borlin pass, it's a rally stage. At one point you come around a corner, 100 ft drop and no walls or barrier!! Good times.

I've a colleague that owns a b&b and would also have contacts in a few hotels in Killarney. So if any help is needed there give me a shout. I am definitely in as I should have a five by the end of the month. Getting it nct's might be another story, 3 month wait! Think I'll be asking for a cancellation slot.

Btw I can't see the map properly have you the Healy on that?

Fla, as long as you have your test date you can drive away. If you book a date print it off and carry it with you. It's not your problem that Applus couldn't organise a farting competition at a baked bean eating festival.

Blarney that's a classic, I love it..! Ya I can't understand how I can get a doe in 2 days but an NCT takes 3 months. It's an absolute joke. Anyways. Kerry run here we come. ;)

The Healy Pass is on the Beara Peninsula (further south to the Ring).
As mentioned, once you have a test date for the NCT you can drive on.

Check edit on the first post about re-route.

Think the 13th is the best weekend in sept to go for as it's in-between the two all Ireland final's.

This hotel looks good price wise

For the second day if we want to do the Healy pass I'd say you'll have to forget about the ring and maybe go do molls/kenmare/the healy and come back again. I've no problem with this as the view is completely different going each way.

Must meet up with you at some stage Fla and maybe go for a 2 car test run when you pick one up :D :D

Because of Killarney being a busy tourist spot I think the sooner accommodation could be booked the better.
Loads of time to sort out the route so if your interested put down you name and in a few days I'll work on a group rate for a hotel.

Been thinking about the route and think this is the best way to go:

Saturday Morning starting in Killarney head off around the ring but head for the Healy when we get to Kenmare and come back to Killarney over the pass, Kenmare to Molls and down into Killarney for the night.

Sunday morning head for Dingle, around Slea Head and back over Connor Pass to Tralee.

We can extend the run Sunday if people want and head for Ballybunion, Tarbert, Glin and finish around Limerick
