The Vee to The Sea Run 24th July

Postby Farasbarr » Sun, 26 Jun 2016 7:55 +0000

Date: 24th July 10:00am
Meeting Point: Cahir Castle car park
Route: Clogheen, The Vee, Lismore, Dungarvan, Stradbally Strand, Tramore
Finishing Point: Councillor's Strand car park
Length: 116km

The run will start under the shadow of Cahir Castle, Tipperary which is just off exit 10 of the M8. From there we will take to the twisty backroads towards the village of Clogheen before climbing the Knockmealdown mountains to The Vee. From there you can see across the valley to the Galtee mountains. Descending from the mountains, we will arrive in the historic town of Lismore. Continuing on, the next destination will be Dungarvan where the Copper Coast Drive begins. The Copper Coast Drive heads from Dungarvan passing Stradbally Strand, Bunmahon, Fenor and finishing at Tramore. But we won't stop there, we will continue on to the fishing village of Dunmore East where the final meet point looks over the town, harbour and lighthouse.

I was hoping to do it some Sunday during the summer but was looking for input as to which Sunday so it wouldn't clash with anything else.
