Don't know about anyone else but I'm on a mx5 spotting mission to torremolinos , so far I have observed two convertibles with the roof UP, albeit none of them were mx5 , hopefully by hiding in plain sight I might be able to spot the lesser spotted convertible with the roof down , possibly unlikely as at what is now 1am it is still 24degrees.
On a side note. I did spot a parked, very clean Renault R4 . Would certainly be top of the list of R4 collectors back home

I'm still here too, gotta check in at least twice a week or I feel I'm missing something. The forum is certainly not as active as it has been in the past, but then again, neither is the yahoo group ( who remembers that?)

Still here too - and to show my ignorance.... you mean there's a Facebook page equivalent to this forum?!?!

I like it here!! Log in most days, but as mentioned above very little activity - and I'm as guilty as the next person for not posting anything. (And am still pissed off as car STILL hasn't passed the NCT due to emissions.... GRRRRR....). I'm really hoping to get it thru before Kirkistown event (the plan was to have it ready for Kilbroney but that deadline came and went).

And as mentioned by Pops above, I'm always surprised when I see soft tops when I'm abroad, because despite the (usually) glorious weather they nearly always have the hood up.... kinda defeating the purpose of having the car. I remember posting here years ago, after picking up the MX5 from the garage in early January and driving back home in the dark with the roof down - and outside temperature reflective of that time of year. Heater and hat on.... and also a big smile.

Hi,
Check in very regularly and generally look up old posts to help with any questions I have with the car. Don't post if I have nothing to add to anything. Not on facebook so didn't even know there was a facebook page.
It been quieter here lately alright. Maybe the good weather ?? People out enjoying their cars?.

very slow here recently agreed, I would say most are going to facebook groups, if you look at he likes of mx5nuts page there 19k people regitered on facebook, the treads runs rapid on there, it like its live, ask a question and you have a response in seconds and the threads spiral down fast. Seems like good system tho, ive seen plenty of other forumns gone this way too.
also buy and sell sites seem to much more traction there too

From the forum stats I can see we have around 350 visits a day, lots of people lurking/reading I guess ;-)
Not much of a facebook person either (shudder) but dip in occasionally.

My own car still off the road, its a year now since its been out and about, time/life getting in the way.
Plan is to resurrect it in Aug, last time I started it it was obvious it needed some new k-nuts on the turbo to manifold studs, a new exhaust manifold stud tapped in (rear lower, hardest to get to stud has stripped out of the head, ugh) and some new spark plugs.

I'm one of those daily visitors, Steve.... and often don't have anything interesting to post!

I think interest is often drummed up with runs / meets - but these don't appear to happen toooo often (anymore). maybe there just ain't enough cars out there, or we are to dispersed, to make events happen. I still haven't visited the Facebook forum - tho I'm sure I will - but I hope this more 'local ' forum will pick up again. Like yourself, my car is still off the road, and is resisting all efforts to get sorted out - which meant I didnt go to kilbroney in the MX5, and probably won't get to Kirkistown either.

Good luck with getting your car back on the road - and with regards to the nut on the manifold.... sure isn't that just ALWAYS the way it happens. If it can be the most awkward nut to strip/ seize / break, then it will be!

When (IF) I get back on the road, then after one nice drive it will all seems with the effort.

I'm still here too but between the horse killing my car and work and have a legacy gt a weekend car I really got lazy about the five. I've to do both sills so that really put me off as that repair alone is fairly hardcore. Then it's parts, new roof and full respray.

I hope to be back soon though.
