Some nice hunks of metal there... wouldn't say no to any of them. The McLaren with the blacked out lenses looks like an alien.

You've covered a good few miles over the past while, Brian - how are you finding the MX5? Any positives standing out? (any niggly things you've noted)?

I am back in Essex, returning to Donegal on Tuesday. My trip so far is 2861 miles, 2327 miles of that on the Euro mainland. Total mileage on the car from new is 4375. I should have set the consumption guide before I left but didn't. It was 45mpg it now reads 47.1mpg. Considering I have done 2 mountain passes, motorway, traffic jams and normal driving, I think that is impressive for a 2 litre petrol engine.
The car has driven brilliantly, I could not fault it. I am not a large man so I didn't have any comfort problems, leg room etc, when I had some long journeys. The boot for packing is certainly not as good as the Mk 2/3 I had. If you like your CD music, then waiting for a pit stop to change the CD is a bind. No way you can have CDs on the passenger seat ready to change on the move.
I'm no longer a fast driver, once your retired your never in a hurry and the pleasure is the open top motoring and enjoying the scenery and I had plenty of that. When you needed to put your foot down, wow it moves. Long live the MX5.

Looks like a great trip. Very jealous...

Can I suggest you try panoramic for those videos?

Thanks, know what you mean about panoramic. Not much space on a Mk4 between the fixed satnav and the instrument cluster cowl. Need a smaller phone.....or a passenger who could control it from their side.
