Police / MX5 Crash and burn !!

Uk Police crash in to mx5 (not sure if it was stolen maybe) but both cars ended up burnt out !! Fuel tank burst apparently in mx5.No one injured apparently.Sorry about pic quality

Looks like the mx5 was stopped when hit from behind, too much damage to say it was at any speed

I wonder how the frontal damage occurred unless it was some kind of multi-car pile up ?
