Wheeler Dealers . Ant v Ed

Postby Pops » Wed, 03 Jan 2018 3:32 +0000

Tried to continue on from a previous topic but didn’t work, so, I believe that Ed China left the series because he didn’t like the way Velocity were going with the new series . Now that the new series has aired , is there really any difference between it and any older series ?.
My vote goes to Ant, seems to be a better presenter all round, good technical explanations etc without the orange marigolds .
Looking at the first few episodes, a lot more work goes on behind the scenes than we’re led to believe

In general I enjoy the series. I liked Ed TBH but I think Ant is as good or better. I don't think the show would have been a success without either. As for Brewer, he winds me up something fierce. WD is one of the better shows because they go into the work more than those crappy American shows where it's all the owner shouting and threatening to fire his employees if they don't meet their unrealistic dead line. Nothing goes into the work carried out, they talk more about the paint work.

I tend not to watch too much of these shows as I have it going on in real life in my own garage between old motorbikes and my MX-5 !!!! :D :D

Eventually got around to watching the first episode of the new series. I like this show - and liked Ed (and his orange gloves). Didn't see too much of a difference in the overall format of the show (though had hoped it would be UK based again, as I kinda lost interest when he did the American cars - cars I don't tend to see on the roads here ... admittedly with a few exceptions, like the Karmann Ghia and BMW 2002 Turbo). Ant does a good job - seemed a bit more enthusiastic then Ed, and gave good descriptions of what was going on. Still miss Ed's orange gloves (and thought Ant should have worn them too....surely that is good practice!).
