Buying a lotto ticket...

Postby leamyj » Sun, 26 Aug 2018 6:23 +0000

This will be explained...
I decided on Friday to do the www.trackdays.ie day in Mondello on Monday.
Then I realised on Saturday night that I had to replace front pads..no problem, there’s a set in the garage..or so I thought.
Tried a local parts guy who opens on a Sunday morning..no joy. Halfords Naas..ditto. Robert Maguire (mx5spares) as per usual got me out of a hole.
Anyhow, fitted the pads this evening and the young lad was pressurising
the brakes when it dumped fluid all over the yard...a previously unseen rubbing of the brake line and the Downpipe
This would have been no fun if it occurred on track....
And that’s why I’m going out to buy a lotto ticket!!
:D

Seems your Guardian Angel was looking out for you. That was a lucky escape.

Good luck with those numbers, John!

Lady luck was certainly shining on you.
Plenty of other track days.

Hi Steve,
I don’t actually drive it to the track, use a frame to tow it..still only takes 20/25 minutes to get there.Dropped in to Mondello today anyhow, the mx5’s are growing in numbers at these meetings, counted at least six at the afternoon session, was really jealous of the guys out on circuit.

A local parts shop is gonna make up a replacement pipe, all I have to do is give them the length of the pipe, show them the particular flair on the old one and they’ll transfer the fittings. All I have to do is shape the pipe...they assure me there’s no need to use a pipe bender...it’ll bend easy ,being copper..(famous last words)

John.
