Mohair V vinyl

Postby TeenaG » Wed, 27 Feb 2019 1:49 +0000

The age old question of Mohair V vinyl.
Previously I’ve fitted vinyl hoods to my MK1. But apparently the quality of what’s available is so bad that everyone seems to be suggesting mohair. But I’ve always tried to keep the old girl original. Any advice?

Mohair will last longer and will be more resistant to shrinking and cracking, unlike vinyl. Mohair material needs more regular cleaning, in my opinion, to keep looking it's best. But using a proofer, such as Fabsil, will help keep in looking good. I would say that if you intend on keeping the car long term, then the mohair roof might be the better option for you.
