![]() Re: Scarce mx5’sNice spotting! A Triumph Toledo - that brings back memories.... Had a Triumph in the 80's when I was a student. It cost £150 and was brown until I hand painted it black. Then it blew a head gasket and so began my first journey into removing the twin carbs and the head. Kept it going for another year or so until the rear suspension dissolved.
Also had a MK 2 escort in the early 80s, back when they 'just cars were 'just a car' and not the pot of gold they appear to be these days (judging by the prices being asked). Bulkhead leaked like a sieve, and carpets constantly wet, despite me plastering every inch of the car between passenger cell and engine bay with isopon. Happy times indeed.

Re: Scarce mx5’sThe Toledo was driven by an elderly couple that were taking part in an endurance trip - ten countries in four days ! That particular appeared to be in pretty decent condition.
The TR6 was parked up in the village of Candes-St-Martin on the river Loire. It looked spotless and a credit to the owner. I would have loved to have heard it driving off ! Re: Mk2 Escorts, I can't get over the prices that they are going for these days. Pure madness ! 1992 Eunos Roadster BRG V-Spec 1.6
