Boot lock

Postby Rusty Bike » Mon, 05 Aug 2019 11:00 +0000

Hi, I took the catch off the boot door of my Mk2 to paint the underside. I forgot to note which way up the catch was fitted. There is an "F" and an arrow printed on it. With the boot open what way should the arrow point. I thought upwards but then I wondered if it should point to the front (F) when closed, thereby pointing down when open. I'm afraid to close it in case I can't get it open again. Numpty, I know!

Thanks Pops. All sorted now. Turns out that this was the least of my problems. Front chassis and drivers side sill was rotten. Another £600 "invested"!

I'd say you got away light if it only cost 600,sometimes you never get to the end of things to do with the mx5
