She passed. All 3 discs on the window now. No excuses. Ya the paint is rough and the hood is shot but I don’t really care. I’ll go on the runs regardless. I’ll get a. Ew roof in March and maybe Robert has a bonnet I can buy. Anyways we’re legal now!

Pops I was reading the faqs of the nct the other day. You are allowed use the car even when declared off the road to go to and from an nct appointment and to go to and from a garage to do repairs for a retest. Only thing you need to have with you is the print out from the nct site.

Ordered the magnacor updated leads (again) and some fresh plugs. Ones that’s are in it have 300km on them but are sitting for 5 years. A stupid rat ate my leads while parked up. Blood all over the engine the little fecker. He ate my left headlight wiring too. New leads will hopefully be here by the weekend. I must post a photo of the wiring fix, any fellow IT would appreciate!

Another day in the barn! Today was gearbox oil and rear diff oil change. Used Lucas oil which was pricey but man the car feels unreal after it. Was concerned that the gearbox was over filled by previous Person as it gushed out the fill hole. Not good. Hopefully it didn’t do damage as gear changes felt awful.

Now though it feels smooth and the 180° spins are nice.

Updated leads are back, new plugs and wow what a difference. Think it was €114 including delivery but if you don’t have these magnacor leads on your car you need to get them. I forgot how smooth they made it. Oh and new plugs too.

Going for the nct(part 1) later, it's snowing at the moment so the hardtop is back on, amazed how damp the shed is this year, I've not had such dampness before but it is so packed with crap now so I'll wait for better weather and then look at insulation for it
823 klms done since January 19 so I don't expect any problems with the nct other than having to return to get the underbody check
A few pics of its very cluttered home, it's leaving its mark with oil drips and a couple of pics of a fantastic mini I found somewhere

Oil leaks appear to be from the join of the left hand side of the head and the block and a clear looking oil that as far as I can tell is a leak from one of the aircon pipes

Def not from bottom of the crank angle sensor? It's the usual culprit. Just on the Aircon, I thought it was mostly refrigerant gas rather than oil no?

Hi Steve, ya definitely leaking from the head, I already did the cam sensor seal and the rocker cover gasket which were both leaking with genuine seals, might be best to just keep an eye on it for now, no point stripping it for the little bit it's dripping, the other leak looks like it's from one of the aircon pipes on the passenger side of engine bay, it's a clear oily sort of fluid, more investigation needed
Part 1 of nct passed, will have to wait for the new lifts to be installed so that the rest can be done. ImageImage
