Still haven't done the alignment, but at least I have it ready to be done when I build up the courage to spend more than a few minutes in the cold shed, getting a bit lazy really, anyway the nct has been extended till May so no real hurry

Going to use the string method to set up the alignment, uaed a piece of wood and a level to set the steering wheel properly but, even though its not really necessary I might move the passenger side string a bit nearer

Made up a diy plumb Bob to check the camber

Exhaust extraction for while the engine was running


Made all the adjustments to the front and rear geometry, it's very basic but will be OK as a starting point, car is declared off the road so can't drive it to the garage for a full four wheel laser alignment check, if travel restrictions are eased enough in March I might put it back on the road then.

Had to review the way I laid out the strings for the alignment as I couldn't get consistent readings, used some drain pipe with slots cut exactly the same distance from each other then by measuring distances from each hub I got the strings square, also I used some fishing line instead of the strimmer cable as it was easier

So now that I've finished the suspension bushes and alignment it's time to do something else.
The second hand mohair top needed to be cleaned, I was given a Christmas present of the auto glym softop cleaner so the to make use of it

Next on the list is a steering wheel cover to try to cure sweaty hands due to a worn wheel, cover supplied by Wish, purest of chinese finery

All sewn up, will be interesting to see how long it lasts


Now looks like I'll have to do something about the condition of the seats, Leather has gone pretty hard and lots of cracks, anyway, that's for another day

Pops, that looks exceptional. Well done. Great to keep track of the work. I've used that Autpglym in tyhe past. Found it excellent. Car looks great.

Thanks Len, that was the first time I've used the auto glym stuff, it worked pretty well but now it seems very easy to leave finger marks on it, anyway, a couple of hours on the road and it'll be fine. Getting a bit carried away with the cleaning
