The turn up for the books being that I was able to get into the forum..... first time in (I think) years. I have tried many times and got "locked out", then, despite having MX5Ireland bookmarked, I would get an error saying "not available". This evening, I thought "I'll give MX5 a go again" (first time in a long time) and it was the usual "not available", so I tried a google search and it led me here!!! (Still locked out, but answered the captcha question and hey presto, got in!!!).
Not sure who is still on here - but I'm about to go read all the posts I've missed, and will hopefully recognise some names!

Oh, and BTW, Stripey is still going strong - though his NCT is up at the end of June. He has had quite a few outings over the past month or so - such great weather to own an MX5. The battery gave up the ghost, but since getting a replacement all has been good. Also, the front wings got very frillly at the bottom, and a bit of poking about found that they were hanging together by paint alone! I got replacement ones last week, and will getting around to having them fitted in the near future.

Welcome back, it felt like I was the only one here for ages, every so often someone might put up a post but it's been very quiet.

Hello Pops! When reading through the missed posts last night it felt like it was Steve and yourself....punctuated by the odd post from other folk! I was surprised that it appears to have been about two years since I last posted. Where did that time go?? Great to see that you are still enjoying 5-life...and no surprise that Steve has be exploring more projects!

I suppose the usual contributors have moved to Facebook or got out of mx5s altogether, my recent trip proved that there are plenty of 5s around though.Hopefully other members will look in and find that there's more than me here
No more than yourself, my battery also gave up this year, no amount of trickle charges or full power charging could save it, age and lack of use probably the main cause.

I gave up on Facebook (in total) quite a few years ago - maybe it shows my age, but I prefer the forum format!

Oh, and I guess my luck had to run out sometime..... my comment above that Zippy is going strong came back to bite me today. I took him to work, covered 50km, brimmed the tank, and drove home. Reversed into the garage, and when I turned off the engine I thought "what's that hissing noise?", followed by steam coming out from beneath the bonnet. Turns out a heater hose had given up the ghost and was pissing out water. To his credit, he got me into the safety of the garage before letting go, and didn't leave me stranded.

Very lucky it leaked when you got home, I'd hate to be stuck somewhere and having to wait for recovery

wow, that was fairly lucky alright Yes, I've been distracted with other projects, have finished them for the most part (might post a bit about them) so my focus is back on MX5s. Yeah I prefer forum format too, easier to search back for info/keep track of discussions.
