I'm not bothered about all this hype. I'll just keep enjoying my 5 as I currently do. Nice and relaxed.
What I gathered this club is not really out for strong organisation, as we all get enough of that during our working weeks.
This relaxed atmosphere and easy going attitude is what interested me and what keeps me coming back for more.

PS I know what is involved in web maintenance and I think Steve is doing a great job as the club is still a hobby. Does he get enough credit for the time and effort he puts in?!?
CloggyFUN is never a straight line!

A lot of fair points there lads, and I in no way meant to upset anyone by suggesting that "longer" serving members be asked to represent us. Maybe "longer serving" was the wrong choice of words, but there are people out there who have more knowledge of this clubs history and previous contacts with the mazda organisation.
Certainly if ANY member feels that they are equipped to meet these guys, make yourself known.
Don't forget that there are still "members " who have chosen not to use the forum, as is their choice, and their voice should be heard also.
Not ALL of the "longer" serving members were responsible for the turmoil that existed a number of months ago.
Believe it or not there is a reasonable level of activity still on the yahoo list.
I also apologise to Steve for assuming that he is even interested in the job, as it were.

I think it might be prudent to have some plan in place, be it having representatives selected( it wouldn't be fair to have one person take all this on),pick a number of topics that might be discussed with these guys etc.,
Certainly Ollie, given your background and as organiser of this run, you should be there if you wish,
The worst thing that could happen now is for these mazda reps to arrive at the midlands run and us to be like a group of headless chickens.
I'm a fecker for cliches, I know, but we need to be singing off a common hymn sheet here.
Stephen, with you on the reminder that this forum is public John

 Hi,
John, I'm not upset - you know the craic with me........I'm just telling it as i see it. No worries.
Look, Lads and Lassies, This club is going to Grow - especially in the next 10 years as our cars turn vintage/classics and qualify for cheap tax and insurance and they will be uber desirable to have and it will be desirable for people to be part of our club.
 It's a given.
I think then the club will probably have to get a LAVOTORY ATTENDANT and go all official - but not at the mo - I too like Cloggy said - like it the way it is.
Re; the run, Well - Lets show them our cars, let them soak in the great spirit and passion we have collectively for our 5's and let Steve or whoever chat to them. I'm not fussed or not pushed to be a club representative - I just want the day to be a good success, and that we have a safe, fun and sunny day.
Anyways, i'm not a long serving member rgds,
 Ollie.

I can tell you one thing for sure, I doubt this club will ever go official. An offspring of it maybe but I've been here I dunno 4 or so and like most its the fact that we are relaxed about everything is what has kept it going.. I gues there are two types of people, ones that like organisation and those that like the more casual vibe. We've done very well to date with the latter and sure we have lost "members" because there are no rules and fee's and chairmans or whatever, but we are also unique as far as clubs go..
the craic from a while back was upsetting at the time but hey we're not in school, we're all grown up now and if we are to go forward some people may have to forgive, forget and swallow a little pride. At the end of the day I take my five out up molls gap weekly, I do most of the rally stages monthly and Ill keep doing that, all Id like to do is share it with you guys more often. I wear my own work uniform all week so I have personally no interest in jackets etc, I just want more people to enjoy what we do. Mondello is something Ive dreamed about for a long time and if we do it yeah.. As for new and old members, well the only difference is as a new member its all exciting and crazy, the longer your here the more relaxed one seems to get, or maybe thats old age!! So I guess anyone who is interested in being a rep talk to steve..

Mazda wabt to talk to us for some reason, lets give them more reasons...

 Good points fla.....
hey, after the midlands run, are you going to organise a Kerry one for us to enjoy? It'd be a shame not to squeeze a few more in before the end of summer.

Whoah... hot topic Re the website, I've no problem sticking their logo somewhere on it if they want to "sponsor" it..
Meh, TBH, I'd be delighted if someone else took up the reins on this and became a point of contact.. maybe get someone "new" ? Fresh blood and all that Send me an email if interested and I'll stick your name down.
Personally, I nominate Ollie to talk to them (all in Favour say "Aye").. Steve
