is it an exhaust redirection valve? The thing you put inline on your exhaust and it redirects it out a shorter route?

Yup that's what it is
It's getting welded on near the end of the downpipe early next week !
Major FUN factor and some extra horses.
I can't wait to hear it in the tunnel.

Took the rear wheel off and brought it to 'Banks Tyres' to get a nail removed and the hole plugged.
I was sitting outside waiting and heard a car start up inside, sounded like a GP Car, it slowly reversed out, four exhaust cans came into view.
The tyre guy who was driving it looked 'worried' but saw me and gave it a quick rev.... which sounded like a growl
What car was it ?
Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG

Today I got to work after leaving my car in the train station only to realise that I dropped my keys some where. Now I'm 100% sure it was when I sat on the wall at the station. So I ring the stations and no answer I spent 1 hour ringing the station. The information office in Connelly station said that they only had 1 number for the station and I had been using it. So I grab a taxi and drive from Ballsbridge to phoenix park station only to realise I left the keys hanging out of the boot lid!!!! WHAT A MUPPET!!!! But get this. still no one present at the station, except a big black magpie!
So if any of you want take a tip to the station pour water on the floor and break you leg or arm and be sorted for life!!!!
my day is not turning out well...
Never knew what fun was till I found the MX5

Changed the oil and filter. plugs and HT leads. Gave her a wash and now I'm off for a spin.
Good old olympics btw thank god we're good at knocking lumps out of people. If only we could get drinking in for 2012

booked the car in for 4 wheel alignment and drove off with it still pulling a bit to the left. pulled in and looked and the report sheet and spotted that it was set up for an mazda mx5 and not the jap import mazda roadster that i have. rang them and got apologies so had to bring it in again. got it back and changed the oil&filter, air filter, ht leads and plugs. its a pleasure to drive as always but just that much sweeter after a service
