After a small issue to begin with the link ecu has been installed and the car is now running again. 8)
Now the tuning fun can begin.

Maybe 10 to 15 ponies, a more useable power band and better throtle response. Fingers crossed. :lol:

Hi ash, i posted a link a while back on a guy using a bi-pipes on an NA 5, he seemed to get good results running 22 degrees timing an low revs reducing to 14 as the revs incresed.

Hey Ash,

You should be able to just set the ignition timing to 10 degrees, then go out for a driving and do a "store" when you come back, the link will figure out the ignition timing for you. The base NA map is pretty good, its when you put FI on the car that tuning gets tricky (unless you have a wideband O2 sensor of course.. ), the link will be able to use the stock O2 sensor when tuning an NA engine as it'll never get out of the sensors range.

No. Different animal altogether. Your normal O2 sensor is narrowband (so only works between certain parameters), a wideband.. ehh.. doesn't..

MAP = Mass Air Pressure, replaces the AFM signal.
Yes, you will be needing a knock sensor.

so.. did ya pick up a barebones Link?
I assume its an electronic boost controller you are after yeah?
All this stuff can be bought from FM plus the latest chip update.
Download the manual on their site too and read (then read again.. and again.. and again ;-) ).

Yeah, I got an FM Link ECU, 2 map sensors (one new/never used and one used), the keypad and the vaccum line all for 270 euros delivered :D
