Well done on all the work lads. It's looking good.

A few questions.....

Are we all going to try and stay at the same hotel (Cloggy's friend), and which one?

Also I can't get the booking form to work.

Many thanks for all the efforts lads - lookin' good!

Colm, I also couldn't get access to the booking form, and I'm at home at the moment.

Posting details, on the forum, of a "preferred" hotel would also be a good idea....but don't all go booking at once - I'm just heading out the door to go see "Feeder" in Dublin and won't be back til late tomorrow night!!!

Howdy,

Yeah, booking form is offline at the moment (thanks for the heads up Colm!). The details on the event are likely to be changed soon so don't take any info on the site as final. Am sure Robin will update us soon.

Guys,
Would it not be easier for us just to block book say 30-40 hotel rooms for this weekend, rather than everyone going off and booking something individually.

Please advise in due course....has Cloogy been on the forum lately?

Cheers John.

IOM event - NEW DETAILS!

Postby Stig » Thu, 20 Nov 2008 6:25 +0000

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let me tell you the latest about our IOM trip.
We recently met with Mazda executives and showcased to them our hopefull plans for the iom 20th anniversary event.
It’s with regret that Mazda Ireland and Mazda Europe has returned (thru’ Mazda Ireland) to us wishing us well with the event but cited an inability to help us financially.
They also stated at the meeting that for them to get involved with us officially with any event, we would have to go all official and establish as club as opposed to the liberal mx5 owning enthusiasts we are. Therefore we would have had to go and do the whole anal membership fee crap, appoint a chairperson and get a toilet attendant

We have re-thinked the scale and mechanics of the event and have decided (with thanks to the continued spirit and encouragement of our peers) to forge ahead with a scaled back event to a mega run weekend away to the iom.

We are seeking revised details from hoteliers, the ferry co and the track operator as I type and we will revert to you all soon with more details.

Please hang fire and don't book anything, or any time off work etc.
The date of our iom mega run may change also, but regardless of the tweaking of this event, I'm confident with the spirit and good will of all our pals in this community – we’ll have a BLAST in the IOM! :D :P :!:

If you have any questions, please just pm me.

Warm Rgds and thanks,

Ollie.

Hi Guys,
I have a contact in the Isle of man who runs a sailing school, I'n not sure if it would help but he's the sort of guy who may have good contacts with some hotel. Let me know if you want me to get in touch with him.

Boo! Don't do it. The Isle of Man will be better.... somehow.

It'll be a great laugh now without all the Corporate Mazda (self edited).
