Bilstein front shock - mk1

I still have my old ones, they were working fine on the front when I took them off.

(edit) at least from what I remember they were Bilsteins, I'll check in the morning.

Cheers dude, let me know, Failed the nct on front shock imbalance.
Flew through everything else - and emissions where down on the previous test after fitting jrcai, ss exhaust and link ecu. Sweet.

Unfortunately, as it turns out I can only find 1 of the rear ones, I must have either given them away a long time ago or they got binned.....dunno why there is still one left in the garage though :roll:

Ash think i have standard short yellow bilstein on shelf, could give you no guarantee on reliability to pass test as its used, give me a shout if i can help, Paul
1989 in Mariner Blue, tan hood and glass rear window all original except 15" alloys

Short ones are for the rear afaik. May have to get one sent from uk. Cheers anyway guys

Agreed, I checked on Mx5Parts and the shorts one are for the back (spring sits half way down the main shock cylinder).

Ah heck, I'll recheck the garage in the morning man !

Are you not supposed to change shocks in pairs or is that just a ploy to get you to buy two shocks instead of one??? :shock:

If your putting on a new one then yeah should always be in pairs but i reckon another used one should be ok.

you should get away with it Ash.
I had a Golf Gti many moons ago and fitted just the 1 to to front with no issues.

RE shocks

ASh, what i meant was i have a front shock its about 1/2 inch shorter than standard as it came from mazda speed set up "not a rear shock" i have lots standard fronts i thought you needed the mazda speed one, they are both there, P

Its a front bilstein shock as fitted to s specials etc, Not mazdaspeed shocks or std.
If you have one how much?
