Crap :spiderman:
Turns out the diff was from a 97 90hp 1.6 which has the open 1.8 diff minus the damper.

I think somebody should do up one of those 'Hitler' subs on YouTube about Mazda and the Mx5 diffs...hell I may do it myself.

There's a guy in the UK that has a Torsen LSD 3.6 Ratio diff with drive shafts and propshaft and hubs for £445. How does that price look ?

There's a 2000 for breaking in Dublin, would the diff/prop/half shafts do from that year Mx5 ?
Traynors haven't gotten back to me yet.

The 98 was a 6 speed, perhaps the diff may have better gearing for a Turbo'd car ?

I've dibs on a 1.8 diff in Dublin, just waiting on it to be identified as to what type of 1.8 diff it is. It has the rubber donut thing on it.

All I need to get now is a BOV, thinking about the RFL one he he he he 8)

Got a lift today from a buddy and we went up to see the 1.8 Diff Robert has from a 2000.

I bought THIS including the prop and half shafts
Image

What type of Diff is it ? It's from a 1.8 six speed and turned out to be a 1.8 Torsen Type II LSD !!!! :D

I spotted this to one side and took a look at it, it's a 2.5" RS (JDM) exhaust box. I did a quick check just now online but can't seem to find 'RS' anywhere. There is Jap writing (symbols etc) on the box just after where it says 'RS'.
I decided to get it as well, what the hell etc, there is only surface discolouration on it and no rust, the car had hardly any milage on it.

So now my exhaust system is going to be 2.5" the whole way from the Turbo back.

Robert also has a set of TEN shocks with springs (as seen above), a roll cage, a perfect 1.8 engine with low milage, a set of Sport Racing Wheels in very good nic, a perfect interior (including seats etc) and a brace bar.

I'm gonna post up some pics in the 'For Sale' section, some VERY good buys if you ask me !

Would it be worth getting a 1.8 five speed gearbox ?
I was thinking that the gearing for the 1.8 would be 'longer' than on a 1.6, stronger also etc.

think they are the same dude... not positive but fairly sure..

nice buys! LSD, sweet!
BTW, its worth replacing the half shaft seals + C rings on the diff/half shafts. Mine is leaking now on one side (I suspect it isn't seated properly), have just bought a replacement seal + clip.

Just thinking.... I have 'wheel hop' at the back end if I try to spin the wheels, I think that indicates the bushings back at the diff need replacing ?
MMMmmmm porting & polishing

(PS) BTW the exhaust is a 'Jasma Members Racing SR' rear box !!!
