The tunnel is actually at Folkstone, just short of Dover, just off the m20. The road from Rosslaire/Pembroke (south wales) is slighty closer and slightly more interesting (for 45 mins!)
I'm thinking taking an ave journey time to Rosslaire 2 hours, 3.5 hours on the Ferry, 6 hours to Folkstone plus 35 mins on the train. Total 12 hours. Ferry to France 23 hours!
I'm sure we could plan a total cross country trip avoiding motorways the whole way which would be much more exciting

after all it is a ROAD Trip!!
