quick question,just wondering if a 1.6 lsd would fit the 1.8?,was thinking of buying a 1.6 with aftermarket lsd for parts
1990 Eunos Roadster 1.6: cusco coilovers, carbing front and rear strut braces, 1.8 brakes, performance engine and diff mounts, stage 2 cerametalic 6 puck 1.8 clutch with lightweight JUN 1.8 flywheel, 1.8 LSD, GReddy manifold, Garrett T25 turbo, ARTech down pipe, E-Manage blue ecu, Altezza injectors, FMIC. Zoom engineering center console, carbon fibre bonnet, garage vary front lip, lightweight garage hundred one hardtop, carbing 6 pt cage.
1999 mx5 1.8 RS: XYZ drift spec Coilovers, reversed Ssr dori dori mesh wheels, wide arches, custom bonnet with s15 vent, rx8 spoiler, carbon rx7 sideskirts, full Arc induction kit, heated electric leather rx8 seats.

The 1.6 is generally considered a weaker unit so not a route i would suggest.
Also if you get a 1.6 diff you will also need 1.6 half shafts and a 1.6 prop shaft as these are different lengths (longer) to 1.8 parts to account for the extra size of the 1.8 diff. Make sense.

ok thanks ash,if i did get one so it might be better to sell it and get a 1.8 one,would be alot of work for one a little weaker

Yeah pretty much mate, can't see it being worth it especailly as you would need to remove the hubs etc. if you can get a 1.8lsd then you only need to remove the halfshafts at the diff end, drop the diff and put the new one in. Easy!!!!
