Door Pull

Postby notch000 » Sat, 17 Feb 2018 11:33 +0000

The cable looked to have snapped or stretched excessively on my drivers door, The doors stuck closed, is there any way to get the door card off from the inside without cutting wiht the door card off ?

Not too sure , but if you lower the door glass fully you might be able to get a long screwdriver or coat hanger at the mechanism.
Are you sure it’s unlocked ( don’t know what model you have) in the mk1 sometimes the key turns in the lock but doesn’t open it

This should help. It seems though that now the spring can be got on its own,

This happened to me a few years ago and it was indeed that spring that caused the problem. I bought the replacement from MX5 Parts I think.

I do remember using the spring from a pen until the part arrived.
