difference in engines

im hearen a rumour that the mazda mx5 mk1 1.6 has the same engine as the 323 is this correct?or is there small difference between them?all replys welcome

It has the same block as the 323 turbo, but the pistons are higher compression & rods are lighter. </nerd>

Nope, the mountings are different what with the 323 being FWD etc
